In 2012, Mr. Hodge earned a spot on the USA National team by qualifying at the International Kuoshu Championships in Baltimore. He went on to win the World Championships in Malaysia in some hard fought battles and became a World Champion. He defended his title in 2015 at the World Championships in Argentina, making him a two-time world champion.

Mr. Hodge is our Alamo school manager and currently the head of our Kids Special Squad program and is helping guide our most advanced youth students towards their black belts.

Some words from Mr. Hodge:

“I began my training back in 1999, and I never imagined how walking through the East West Alamo front door would change my life forever. I was hooked after my first introductory lesson, and haven’t stopped training since. With Bok Fu Do, I have traveled the world and have represented my country on the world stage twice. I never dreamed I would have had a chance to do these things. Not only am I an East West student, but I get the privilege to pass on the teachings of Bok Fu Do to students off all ages.

My Bok Fu Do journey has been incredible and I have meet amazing people over the years. I met my wife while training at the school, and we have been able to experience incredible things together. I could not imagine what my life would be like without ever meeting and learning from Grandmaster Lee, Master Buckley, or Master Newman. Bok Fu Do is so much more than just punching and kicking; it allows you to apply the concepts and lessons learned every day inside and outside of the school.

This has been an incredible journey of self-discovery and growth. I look forward to a lifetime of continued learning, friendship, and the opportunity to help other students along their path at East West. Thank you so much Grandmaster Lee, Master Buckley, and Master Newman!”
