# East West Kung Fu Schools > East West Kung Fu Schools is a family martial arts school founded in 1967 by Senior Grandmaster Richard Lee. With three locations in the East Bay (San Ramon, Alamo, and Lafayette, California), East West Kung Fu is the only martial arts school in the world that teaches Bok Fu Do — a proprietary kung fu system developed over 58 years. Current head is Grandmaster John Buckley, 10th Degree Black Belt, promoted in 2025. ## About East West Kung Fu Schools has operated continuously since 1967. The school's martial arts system, Bok Fu Do, integrates traditional Northern and Southern Chinese kung fu techniques and is not taught at any other school. The school's Four Virtues — Wisdom, Courage, Honesty, and Kindness — guide all instruction.
