HOME OF BOK FU DO - SYSTEM OF THE WHITE TIGER - EST. 1967
Here’s a little Bok Fu philosophy for your day! this is a piece from Grand-master Lee’s writing, “The master knows to be quick of eye but slow of tongue”.
“The master knows that the only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible. Remember my favorite saying? You see things and say “why?”, but I dream things that never were and I say, “why not?” A person’s dreams are but an index to their greatness. in the long run, my friend, a person can simply hit only what they aim at.
Your ideals will be like stars; you will not succeed in reaching them with your hands. But, like the seafaring person, you choose them as your guides; following them you will reach your destiny. It is always the ultimate wisdom of the black belt master that a person is never more truly himself, or a black belt, than when he or she is striving for what is beyond their grasp.
I think when a person’s mind is stretched to a new idea it will never go back to its original dimension and that surely has been my goal in presenting these ideas to you in this writing. But you alone, people, have the power to transform your thoughts into physical reality. You alone can decide to share with me and make these dreams come true. I know that only together can we truly make this dream – my dream – our dream – happen.
As a master black belt always remember that the most important thing about a person is what he or she really believes in the depth of their being. This is the thing that makes that individual what he or she is, the thing that organizes them and feeds them; the thing that keeps the person going in the face of unknown circumstances; the thing that gives them resistance and drive.
In closing i want you to realize that, to me, the purpose of this writing and these goals is to really focus your black belt attention. You see, i know as a black belt, that your mind will not reach toward true black belt achievement until it has clear objectives. But, the magic, people, will really begin when you set your goals. In is then that the power to become a black belt master will become a true reality for you.
Always remember, if we enjoy what we do, we will be successful. If we do not enjoy what we do, we will not be successful. Our success in any occupation or endeavor depends upon our enjoyment. Loving our work makes the difference. I love this system and can tell you that he who finds joy in his work has found success at last. Good luck to you and onward and upwards with Bok-Fu-Do.”
