7th Day of our 12 Days of Bok Fu Spirit

If you celebrate Christmas, i hope you had a wonderful day with your family yesterday!

Well there was obviously no blog post yesterday, but it was for a good reason. I need to mention my act of kindness on our 5th day first. I was standing in line at safeway (yes i braved the holiday craziness on Christmas eve to pick up a few last minute things for our holiday meals), and the woman in front of me finished checking out. She was juggling a baby, 2 other small kids and a ton of groceries. I realized right after she made her way out of the store that she left her cell phone sitting on the checkout counter. I had been waiting in line for about 10 minutes but decided to give up my spot in line to run outside and find her before she left. she was obviously thankful to have her cell phone back!

My act of kindness on Christmas was a little nontraditional. after my annual Christmas morning phone calls to some family and friends that i wasn't going to see that day, I decided i was going to have a non technology day. It was important to me focus my entire day on the people that i loved, so i turned off my cell phone for the day and vowed to not check email. It was an act of kindness for myself but also to the people i cared about so that 100% of my attention could be on enjoying the time i had with them. it was so great that i have decided will be a regular act for me in 2013!

Remember to keep logging your acts of kindness in our comments section after each of these posts!

Khis week is one of my favorite of the year! although many people get sad that the holidays are over, this week before the new year is filled with excitement for me. I spend a good part of the week turning my attention to the new year. I personally feel like new year's resolutions aren't the best way to change our habits, so i much prefer setting goals for the new year. Here is a great article with some tips for setting your goals for 2013!
