Such a fantastic instructor workout on wednesday night! the chi in the room was electric! Congratulations to Mrs. Fitzsimmons, Ms. Winder and Ms. Berch on their 1st degree brown belts and to Mrs. Duong and Mr. Carlton on their 3rd degree brown belts. Very well deserved, all of you!

One of my absolute favorite bok fu philosophy poems. this is written on the wall in the alamo school behind the mirrors.

“The guy in the glass”

When you get what you want,

and the world makes you king for a day

then go to the mirror and look at yourself

and see what that guy has to say.

For it isn’t you father, or mother, or wife

who judgment upon you must pass:

The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life

is the guy staring back from the glass.

He’s the fellow to please, never mind all the rest

For he’s with you clear to the end

and you’ve passed your most difficult, dangerous test

if the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may be like jack horner and “chisel” a plum

and think you’re a wonderful guy

but the man in the glass says you’re only a bum

if you can’t look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years

and get pats on the back as you pass

but your final reward will be heartaches and tears

if you’ve cheated the guy in the glass.

Warm Up:

2 times:

50 jumps rope jumps

10 pass through with staff

10 horse stance squats

10 inchworms

10 scorpions

10 samson stretch

Workout:

25 Horse Stance Squat Jumps

25 Push Ups

25 V Ups

25 Power Punches on heavy bag (each arm)

25 Box Jumps (or step ups)

25 Chicken Lunges

25 Tuck Jumps

25 Hardbow/Broken Bow Lunges

25 Wheel Kick Balance (each leg)

25 Bok Fu Burpees

Warm Down:

5 minutes on foam roller for quads/hips

5 minutes ball torture for shoulders
