Niceness is Underrated!

Niceness is Underrated!

This brings a whole new meaning to our “cat stance”…

I was in a beautiful area on the coast on Wednesday where you could take breathtaking pictures of the view. I came across a family of 4 whose mother was desperately trying to get a good picture of her family on the rocks overlooking the water. Although I was engaged in a conversation, I stopped, walked over to her and asked if I could take the picture for her so she could be in it with her family. She seemed shocked by my offer, since tons of people had walked by without stopping. She was thrilled, handed me the camera and stood with her family as I took a picture for them that I am sure they will enjoy for years to come. She

On Wed. called a family friend who is over 90 years old to check up on her. Her family couldn’t visit her during the holidays and she’s been feeliong very lonely. I spend one hour on the phone just listening to her talking. At the end of the conversation her expression of gratitude brought tears to my eyes….

Today I wrote a letter to a former neighbor from my childhood. I haven’t seen her in over fifty years. I grew up with her kids. She will soon be celebrating her 90th birthday. It brought back many pleasant memories for me, and I hope it does the same for her.

12/29 – This is a little different. and all of us can make the difference!

I am a “Power To End Stroke” ambassador. Power To End Stroke is an education and awareness campaign that embraces and celebrates the culture, energy, creativity and lifestyles of Americans. It unites people to help make an impact on the high incidence of stroke within their communities. Power To End Stroke was created by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to help reach the ASA mission to reduce stroke and risk of stroke. I became the PTES ambassador because my mom and my brother had multiple heart attacks and strokes and passed away, so joining PTES help myself, my loved ones, and my community to raise critical awareness. Heart disease and stroke are major health risks for all people.

Today, I sent the Personal Risk Assessment to all of my friends and asked them to send to two of their friends. I am requesting you to help me to help your loved ones save lives by sending them the below Risk Assessment. This action only takes 2 minutes but it may save 2 lives.

On Thursday I gave my niece a book about nutrition for atheletes as she is quite passionate about her track and has started to really watch what she eats to make sure everything is helping, not hurting her performance.

Sorry, I’m a bit late in posting this one… I was busy yesterday.

A friend of mine was complaining about the fact that she didn’t understand the assignment that our biology teacher had assigned for us to complete over winter break. I helped explain it to her.

I’m up at Tahoe. We were in the lodge getting lunch and I saw a young girl looking for her parents. She still had her food tray in hand. She spotted her mom and wanted to go to her but she didn’t have money to pay for her food. I saw her looking anxious so I told her that her food was already paid for and she should just go to her mom. She got a big smile of relief and off she went with her food. I took care of paying for her lunch. She was happy and my reward was her smile.
